-John Balsis Ron's classes were fun, highly
informative and really prepared me for the reality of starting a career
in commercial acting. I think of many of his "tips" as I go out on auditions.
His six week course is packed with invaluable information about everything
from practical tips on what to pack in your "bag" for an audition, to
how to get an agent and how the union works. His small class size also
insures plenty of on-camera time and individual concern for his students...which,
I might add, extends to continued advice and help for his alumni whenever
requested. I high recommend his classes.
-Nancy Harline
After taking several classes
at the Orange County Commercial Acting Workshop, my booking ratio increased
by 60%. The classes were presented in a very professional and motivating
manner. There was none of this brow beating that you find in some classes,
but were very relaxing and enjoyable to attend. I really looked forward
to going to class. If anyone is truly looking to advance their careers
all they have to do is to take a class at OCCAW and follow the techniques
presented and you will be well on your way. I would not hesitate to
recommend the Orange County Commercial Acting Workshop to anyone...
-Victoria Chen Not only did I have a great
time during the basic and advanced classes, I learned so much about
acting, industry "secrets" and practical tips regarding auditions and
getting an agent. Using the skills and information I gained from Ron's
teaching, within a month I had a SAG agent (as well as offers from two
others) and was booking jobs. I highly recommend OCCAW to anybody who
is serious about a career in acting.
-Katy Roy It was many years ago since
I had performed in front of an audience. On my own again, I began thinking
about how I might make a few extra dollars so I decided, now in my 70's,
to start a new and exciting career. I signed up with Ron's workshop
group. (Didn't know I was so smart!) Ron made everything fun. His classes
were like spending an evening with friends. He explained all phases
of acting and performing in front of the camera. He had valuable material
as to how to compose resumes, where to locate good photographers, where
to go for good agents or casting companies. He showed us ways to use
our imagination, our body language, facial expressions and voices. I
was amazed at how easy everyone (myself included) took to his instructions.
"Yes", it was fun! He made it "do"able. He made it easy to use all our
potential. He offered suggestions, he praised, he critiqued. He always
helped, he never made anyone feel out of place or ridiculous. I really
looked forward to our evenings at class. He prepared me to face all
the auditions, even the rejection that goes with the work. He left us
well prepared. It was now up to each of us to live up to our dreams--Ron
gave us the blueprint to follow.
